Hazardous Location Valves | Nonincindive & Intrinsically Safe
Hazardous location valves from Proportion-Air are Factory Mutual (FM) approved for hazardous areas. Rugged, vibration proof, and closed-loop for long term stability. Available in Class 1 Div 1 Groups C-G and Class 1 Div 2 Groups A-G. Perfect for providing a pilot signal to a pilot operated regulator or controlling low flow static applications in hazardous areas.
Proportion-Air offers two FM approved hazardous location valves. The ISF1 is FM approved Nonincindive with intrinsically safe process connections. The ISQB1 is FM approved Intrinsically Safe with intrinsically safe barriers.

Fibers & Filings
A Division 1 location is one in which ignitable concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, dust, filings or fibers may be present as a result of:
- They exist under normal operating conditions.
- They exist frequently because of repair, maintenance operations or leakage.
- Breakdown or faulty operation of equipment or process.
A Division 2 location is one in which ignitable concentrations of flammable liquids, gases, dust, filings or fibers may be present as a result of:
- Accidental rupture or breakdown of the normally closed equipment.
- A failure or abnormal operation of the venting equipment.
- Being located adjacent to a Division 1 location from which ignitable concentrations of gases, vapors, dust, filings or fibers may might occasionally be communicated.
“Intrinsically Safe”, “Explosion Proof” & “Nonincindive” are methods of protection against damage or loss of life resulting of ignition of a combustible atmosphere. Intrinsic Safety, as a method of protection, limits the energy available in the hazardous (classified) area so, under normal operation or with a fault(s) present, an ignition and resulting explosion and fire cannot occur. Explosion Proof, as a method of protection, completely contains any explosion and fire and quenches the resulting high temperature gasses to prevent ignition to the surrounding atmosphere. Nonincindive is a method of protection in which any spark or thermal effect, produced under normal operating conditions, is incapable of causing ignition of a specified mixture of flammable or combustible material in air.
What Our Customers Say
What an excellent process you have for specifying parts for your customers. I am very impressed.
I met with Bill today...He was impressed by your knowledge and application of your products and wanted me to thank you for your excellent support.
It is really a pleasure to work with Proportion-Air. You cannot imagine what kind of problems I have with some manufacturers. Thank you very much!

I'm happy to report that the trial on the QPV1 has been going well. I'm quite impressed by the performance of the unit. I'm also very impressed by the service that I received from Nick Archer which I think merits specific attention. Nick has been extremely responsive to my emails and questions. He has been patient, has kept his word, and has always replied to me quickly with an answer or a reply to my questions. Nick has provided me with what I, and certainly others in my group, consider to be a perfect example of top notch high quality customer service.
