Larry Travels to Montreal, Canada
This week’s travel took me to Montreal, Canada. I am always amazed by how people from Montreal can switch between French and English and back again so rapidly when carrying on a conversation. The website Wikipedia says that 56% of those in Montreal are fluent in both languages. Another item to note is when Montreal was founded: the same website says that it was founded in May of 1642.
A view of the city from 26 floors up shows Mount Royal, a prominent landmark, in the background. The next photo is of Ronnie, the doorman at the Marriott downtown. Ronnie was quite the entertainer and it was obvious that he enjoyed what he did. People always responded with a smile when they saw Ronnie. He said he’s worked at the hotel for over 45 years. I think it would be interesting to spend a day with Ronnie; I am sure he would have many interesting stories to tell of the Marriott Hotel patrons he’s met over the years.
Montreal is a great destination if planning a vacation to Canada.
