Proportion-Air is proud to announce its first senior capstone collaboration with the Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering. This semester, a talented group of senior engineering students will design an intrinsically safe pressure transducer to complement our QB Electronic Pressure Regulator for hazardous environments. Each team member brings unique skills and perspectives to this real-world manufacturing challenge. We’re excited to partner with Penn State and look forward to a rewarding experience for this exceptional group of future engineers.
Meet the Team

Webb Potter is a senior at Penn State University, pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Leadership Development. He is originally from Oneida, New York. He is actively involved with Penn State THON, one of the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, which supports children and families affected by pediatric cancer. In his free time, he enjoys playing intramural sports, and cheering on New York sports teams. Webb also likes spending time outdoors running, hiking, and biking.

Bennett Schwarz is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at Penn State University, bringing a strong mix of technical skill and campus involvement to his final year. Hailing from Narberth, Pennsylvania, Bennett is engaged in both academic and extracurricular communities. On campus, Bennett is actively involved with Penn State THON. He also contributes to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. A great place to connect with peers and professionals to explore innovations in the field. Bennett enjoys staying active through running, golfing, and skiing. He is also an avid Philly sports fan.

Jonathan Earnest is a senior Electrical Engineering student at Penn State University. He brings both technical skill and personal drive to his academic journey. Jonathan was born in York, Pennsylvania, and raised just outside of Altoona. He enjoys lifting weights, watching sports, cooking, and playing video games.

Grant Vanatta is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at Penn State University. Originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, he made the move to Penn State to pursue a top-tier engineering education and immerse himself in a collaborative learning environment. Outside of academics, Grant enjoys playing soccer and weightlifting.

Benjamin Gangwer is a senior at Penn State University, studying Electrical Engineering. His academic journey began at Penn State Berks, where he spent his first two years and was an active member of the club rugby team. Originally from Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, Benjamin brings a strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving to his studies. Outside of academics, he enjoys hiking, lifting weights, and cheering on Philadelphia sports teams.
Why Capstone Projects
This team of senior capstone engineers will spend the semester designing and building a working prototype for potential production. Their efforts represent the intersection of academic learning and industry application. Follow our blog and social media channels for updates on their progress, and insights into their design process. We are excited to follow them on their journey to create a new intrinsically safe pressure transducer.
