Just minutes from the white sand and blue waters of Pensacola Beach, our new state-of-the-art 12,000 square foot research and development facility in beautiful Gulf Breeze, Florida, has opened. This building offers a fresh new space for us to invent and test electronic air pressure regulators, air flow control valves and more to “Retool America.”
A peek around our new space:
- The 1,400-square-foot lobby displays a collection of interactive product demonstrations for our visitors to get a feel – literally and figuratively – for our product capabilities.
- Our engineers work in a new lab with new product research and development opportunities. New applications and additional testing are also on the docket.
- The building has a modern 764-square-foot training room for our partners to learn about our capabilities. Proportion-Air has been providing training and knowledge to our distributor partners for decades, and a program is being developed to take advantage of the new space and amenities.
- The training room will also serve other audiences. Engineering students from across the country will be invited to visit and learn from our engineers. This is in addition to our current programs with universities, providing students real-world experience critical to their success as future engineers.
- Eventually a space in the engineering area will also be a media zone. We’ll interview our engineers about product lines and putting together videos for our distributors, our website, and social media. This new media area will keep our customers and partners up to date on new and existing products and applications.
Not only beautiful on the inside
These internal elements are just part of the story of this new building. The physical structure and infrastructure also offer some impressive features. Northwest Florida is known for hurricanes and severe weather. The facility has been built with reinforced concrete block and rated to withstand a Category 4 hurricane. A Generac industrial gaseous 9.0L V-8 engine driven generator will keep us running in the event of a power loss. The doors and windows have impact glass.
With this great new space, we’re continuing a tradition of serving the manufacturing industry and introducing new innovations.
