The Proportion-Air RMV and QB2 can be used for high-flow leak testing vacuum control applications. The higher flow capability allows for faster fill and exhaust times, which will increase throughput and decrease testing costs.

In this application, a QB2/RMV vacuum assembly can accurately control vacuum to a mold cavity under test. Once the vacuum level is achieved in the tank, a shutoff valve (not shown) is actuated and the tank is tested for leaks. If there is a leak, the sensor analog output will start decreasing and the controller will measure the leak and determine if the part under test is good or bad.

This is a 2-loop configuration where the QB2/RMV assembly is directly (inline) controlling the vacuum in the mold cavity by being the restriction in the line.
