Windshield Silk Screening Force Control
Windshield silk screening requires squeegee force control to produce a good product. Proportion-Air’s electronic pressure regulators are an ideal candidate for this force control application.
They are closed-loop and have high accuracy and repeatability. Force is adjustable with a PLC or computer which simplifies the part change-over with new windshields. Pressure is calibrated by adjusting the command signal to the unit. The analog monitor signal can be used to display pressure on a panel meter or for use as data acquisition.
In this sketch, a QB3 is controlling pressure to both squeegee cylinders to provide consistent force control throughout the entire process.
