Tire Inflation
Tire inflation is one of the final steps in the manufacturing of tires. Controlling backpressure on the tire during inflation is one way to achieve quick inflation rates and repeatable pressure control.
In this drawing, a QB1 is piloting a BD-Series back pressure regulator from
Burling Valve. This allows for very fast and very repeatable filling. A large manual regulator is preset to control pressure into the tire. This is low accuracy. The back pressure regulator then provides great accuracy by relieving off all pressure above a specific set point. Accuracy could be further improved by implementing
2nd loop feedback.
