This application required that media be added to catheters at low pressure. A manifold of 2 MM1s were used to control the force of syringes dispensing the media into the catheters.
The analog monitor from the MM1 closed-loop pressure regulator can be taken back to the controller for data acquisition and constant monitoring of exact pressure downstream. The MMs are ideal because they can mount to a common manifold (up to 12), share inlet pressure and exhaust ports, and simultaneously control individual syringes.
In this sketch, an external pressure transducer is measuring pressure into the catheter and providing this feedback to the PLC. The PLC then calculates the required command to each MM in “real-time.”
