A single QB3 electronic pressure regulator can be used to control the tension of a dancer arm by controlling the pressure of a cylinder. A rotary angle position sensor then sends feedback to the controller.
In this application, the position of movable roller indicates the amount of web tension. The position sensor sends a signal to the controller and the controller sends a signal to the rapid responding, self-venting QB3 pressure regulator to maintain position – which inevitably maintains tension in the web.
The QB3 works well in this process because it can flow up to 30 SCFM and control pressure up to 150 PSI. It can accommodate numerous cylinder sizes and various web tensioning applications with speed and repeatability throughout the process.
